How to Enable Cydia Substrate on iOS 8.3 with TaiG 8.3 Untether.deb: If you have a jailbroken iOS 8.3 device, you have probably experienced some major problems with the severe lack of Cydia Substrate support.
While Cydia Substrate hasn’t worked on iOS 8.3 because of a fix that needed to be implemented by TaiG, that fix is finally out and available to iOS users.
As long as your device has been jailbroken with the TaiG 2.0 tool, you can use a basic .deb file to install the Cydia Substrate fix in just a matter of minutes.
- The first thing you will need to do is go into Cydia and install iFile (in iOS 8 with Cydia), which you will need to install the .deb file.
- Force close Cydia after you install the iFile package (you can double tap Home Button and then swipe to kill Cydia process) – if you skip this step, probably you’ll get the error bellow: “dpkg: status database area is locked by another process”
- Now just tap to Download TaiG 8.3 Untether.deb (compatible with jailbroken iPhones and iPads running iOS 8.3)
- Simply tap “Open in iFile” and “Installer”
You will then need to reboot your device and when it loads back up everything in Cydia should work just fine and you can enjoy all of the compatible jailbreak apps and tweaks that are related to Cydia Substrate.
